Ever since Jake was just a little boy, he loved cars. Although he was partial to Ford
Mustangs, Jake really loved anything with 4 wheels and a motor. His love for cars drove
him to Monty Tech for his high school years, where he was an integral part of their Auto
Body Shop. He dreamed to one day be able to open his own restoration shop so he could
share his passion and skill with others.
It was hard to top Jake's passion for cars, but anyone that knew him
would tell you that his faith trumped it all. It was evident in each and every
aspect of his life. His faith was a part of who he was and could easily be seen
as he encouraged, loved, helped and brought so much joy into the lives of all
who knew him.
His passion to live out his faith and his heart for
missions led him on two missions' trips to the Dominican Republic.
Jake dreamed of one day being able to paint the buses there in order
to bring joy to the children in the Batey villages. With the cooperation
of the Monty Tech Auto Body Shop and theGood Samaritan Mission
Council, that dream was realized in April 2012!
We know that no one could ever impact the world
in the same way that Jake did while he was with
us, but it is our great hope that the
"Because Jake Lived"
organization will honor his memory by helping
kids realize that they can be used NOW to make a
difference in their world.
